Welcome to Xtreme Zero Waste’s Recycling Centre. We have been contracted since 2000 by Waikato District Council to operate the Raglan Resource Recovery Centre. Our main objective here is to increase the ability of our community to REUSE –  a circular economy in action!

Make the most of your local Resource Recovery Centre and divert as much as you can from landfill.

  • Landfill: The price of landfill is currently $117.00 per metre cubed. Let’s do what we can and sort our loads to reuse, recycle and compost materials before landfilling!
  • Garden waste: We take green waste including a variety of noxious weeds $23.50 per metre cubed. Load garden waste first on the bottom of your truck or trailer if you have a mixed load.
  • Second-hand donations: We accept clean clothes and linens, shoes, toys, sports and outdoor gear, books and homewares that are all clean and not broken. Bag together for Kaahu’s Nest.
  • Metal: We can also divert functional or rusted metal items, electrical items, whiteware and timber for reuse or scrap. Some items will have a drop off charge, some items are accepted for free – please see prices below or ask our friendly yard staff and shop team.
  • Household Recycling: All items must be washed to be recycled at the Recycle Wall, check what can be recycled.

Here you can avoid packaging and shipping fee’s (& petrol costs to the city!), support reuse, and contribute to the local economy by buying second-hand from us.

  • Homewares: We have everything you might need to clothe your whaanau, throw a party, or find unique gifts and home essentials in Kaahu’s nest.
  • Wood yard and metal yard: Plenty of resources for renovations, van fit outs, upcycling projects, DIY creativity, or repairing something that is loved but broken.
  • Compost: Close the loop by purchasing our quality local compost for your gardens.
    • Compost bags can be purchased on site at Kaahu’s Nest in open hours.
    • Bulk scoops for trailer pickup on site can be purchased in Kaahu’s Nest on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 12:30pm – 3:30pm. No weekend pickups. 
    • Bulk deliveries can be ordered online here or by phoning our office 07 825 6509.

  • Tyres – FREE drop off 5 per person. Tyres must be whole, clean, and rerimmed. Costs apply for dirst, cut and rimmed tyres, and for non-motorised tyres like bikes.
