Kia ora to all residents living in the wider Raglan areas, Te Mata, Te Uku, Te Akau and Waitetuna.

Recycling

*As of Monday 5th Dec 2022 Te Uku Recycling depot will be closed for upgrade work. All going to plan, reopening for drop offs Friday 23rd Dec. The depot will be safer and easier for residents and our team to access this space. There will be shelter from the weather, and a fence to contain any litter if need be from waterways & neighbouring properties. Please hold on to your recycling or bring it up to Xtreme Zero Waste site.

Recycling can be taken to sort into a sea-frieght container at Te Uku (behind the store entry via Okete Rd) or Te Mata (by the school, relocating soon). We accept Glass, Aluminium Cans, Tin Cans, Plastics #1 #2 #5 & Clear Film Soft Plastics, Cardboard & Paper. All items must be cleaned first at home, then sorted into correct holes.This depot is only for rural residents household recycling NOT dumping of any items (fridges, furniture, carcasses to name a few examples we’ve seen). These hubs are serviced by our team on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. 

Landfill

Landfill must be disposed of into our certified pre-paid bags (blue or green) and placed at the following locations (these are NOT places for dumping items):

  • Te Uku skip bins provided (behind the store, entry via Okete Rd). *closed for upgrading from Mon 5th December 2022.
  • Cogswell Rd end, Otonga Valley Rd end, Bush View Drive collection box, Maungatawhiri Rd end, Okete Rd end (Raglan side)
  • At your kerbside if you live on: Waitetuna Valley Rd between SH23 and Bush View Drive. 
  • NEW SERVICE of kerbside pre-paid bag collection for Okete Rd, Bridal Creek Rd, Hauroro Bay Rd, Checkley Rd, Matakotea Rd, Wrights Rd & Te Mata Rd (up to and including the village)

Kerbside collection will be every Monday and depots serviced Mondays and Fridays including public holidays.

Pre-paid bags are available to purchase from our shop, Te Uku Store, Four Square, Supervalue, BP, Wainui Food Market, Waikato District Council / Raglan Library.

Larger items for disposal must be brought to our site on Te Hutewai Rd.

If you see any illegal dumping it must be reported to Waikato District Council. Do it online here or Phone: 0800 492 452L
