Upskilling our whanau

Licencing & Training

for our crew & the raglan community

We know how empowering it is to gain independence with a driver’s licence – going from passenger to upskilling on that road code and getting a new card in the wallet. One of our key kaupapa here at Xtreme is supporting people into licencing and further training to fill their kete with more skills and confidence.

We’ve tallied up all the training at Xtreme over the past 2 years to a total whopping 121 licences and certificates. One great example of how we love to support is a young man who came to us 6 years ago on his learners. He soon got his restricted licence, full licence and, on Friday, his Heavy Trade (Class 2 truck licence). He started at Xtreme as a runner on kerbside and business collections – now he can mix up his week by driving the big trucks and taking on more responsibilities.

Last week, in partnership with Western Community House, Xtreme hosted a 3 learners’ licencing training for 4 of our crew and 8 others from the Raglan community. Course Leader Reegan was amazing at teaching with games and paperwork, making this learning more accessible for all.

Dwight & Ivan

Congratulations to Dwight (pictured left) with his Class 2 HT licence. He’s now servicing the town’s businesses, driving the biggest truck in our fleet. Alongside him is Ivan with his fresh new Learners Licence. All four of our team passed their test within the week. We wish all the other community members who learned with us the best of luck with their test

“We are immensley proud of our team, and proud that Xtreme is able to offer this to support their personal development. It’s been great to extend this out to others in the Raglan community also.”  XZW Managing Director, Steve van Wonderen

Learners licencing training for the wider Raglan community will be available in the future Please keep an eye on our socials for upcoming dates. @xtremezerowaste
