As part of Plastic Bag Free Raglan, a volunteer sewing group was created in July 2106 called Bag It Raglan. Coordinated by Victoria Beeby and Di Jennings, the group met monthly until the end of 2017.
Bag It Raglan went above and beyond, hosting sewing sessions with local schools and various community groups. With the help of countless volunteers and donated fabric and materials, Bag It Raglan successfully made and handed out over 1,500 reusable shopping bags to the community, free of charge.
Although Bag It Raglan recently ceased operating as a community sewing group, the Bag It ladies are extending creatively, morphing into the Raglan Upcycling Co-op https://www.facebook.com/raglanupcyclingcoop/.
