Zero Waste Education in schools

Xtreme Zero Waste provides Zero Waste Education to schools in the Waikato District Council. Our superhero educator is…

Matua X: Mr. X works full-time battling wastefulness and litterful creatures! His popularity is unparalleled, as he does not only TEACH but he uses his Xtremely Xciting Enthusiasm and makes learning FUN.

Programmes on offer:

1) Zero Waste Education:.  Complete units of study for Yrs 0-8.  A range of topics and even a few new ideas.  Fun, interactive, and action packed.  This can be delivered all at once to all the classrooms and syndicates of your school, or it can be split up with different units for different syndicates in different terms.  We are now taking bookings for 2017.

2) Kura Para Kore: This is a  funded project to help support schools in practical terms to minimise their waste – eg turning the learning into action!  This an award-winning programme working on marae all over the country that is now making its way into schools. It is a great way to incorporate te reo Māori together with waste minimisation, while having real environmental actions and outcomes in daily school life.
